Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart both pay beautiful tributes to Sinead O’Connor who has died this week at the age of 56

Both Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox have written very touching tributes to Sinead O’Connor who has sadly passed away at the age of 56.

Annie Lennox’s tribute is a simple but beautiful poem and is a heartfelt tribute to an artist who shared their soul through exquisite artistry, showcasing both her vulnerability and strength,

You bared your soul…
Shared your brilliance
Through exquisite artistry
Your incredible voice..
Fierce and fragile
Lioness and lamb
Sweet singing bird
Keenly tuned
Trembling..
Tip-toeing along the high wire
Or stamping the ground
Raw
Wounded
Fearless
Impulsive
Bold and beautiful
Truth teller
Singer of songs
Crazy wisdom
Power house
Shaman
Priest and Priestess
Unafraid..
May the angels hold you
In their tender arms
And give you rest
In peace…??

Dave shares an intimate video from a recording session at The Church and writes about his time working with Sinead.

Writing , recording and filming with #sineadoconnor was an exhilarating experience an honour to work with such genius talent, a beautiful soul and a voice that brought me to tears on many occasions. Sinéad was often misunderstood (not surprising considering what she lived through)at times she enraptured me with her giddiness her joy at being alive, her eyes sparkling and smile beaming , she would light up the whole church we recorded in sometimes, other times I was with her in absolute turmoil and despair, through it all she fought fiercely to be an artist to be herself against all odds.

Rest In Peace Sinéad O’Connor you left an indelible mark on the history of popular music and created everlasting memories in my mind. Condolences to the family and friends who loved her ??
