Dave Stewart’s Deep Blues documentary has recently been remastered and has had a limited cinema and streaming release. This new version is now available to buy on Blu-ray and DVD and comes with new commentary from Robert Mugge.
Cerys Mathews is joined by Dave Stewart to talk about his seminal documentary Deep Blues. Dave shares his memories of making the film, including playing with R.L. Burnside outside his shack and swapping stories with Jessie Mae Hemphill, and talks about why the film connected so deeply with people.
The show is on BBC Radio 2 this evening at 9.00pm
