Scottish music legend, Annie Lennox has provided the soundtrack to video made by Edinburgh-based charity Waverley Care especially for World AIDS Day, December 1.

The HIV and Hepatitis C charity has crafted a short film using still photographs and stark facts and figures to help explain the current situation of HIV in Scotland.

It also describes the help and services that Waverley Care is able to provide for people.

Karen Docwra from Waverley Care’s Fundraising and Communications Team said: “We were keen to use a different and easily accessible medium to help people stop and think on World AIDS Day.

“Annie Lennox is a valued supporter of Waverley Care and a great champion of HIV awareness so it seemed fitting to use her music.

“We are grateful to her and to Universal Music for giving us permission to use it.”

The track used was ‘Universal Child’ from her album, Christmas Cornucopia.

Waverley Care was established in 1989 to provide care and support to those living with HIV. The charity has developed its services over time to reflect the changing needs of people with HIV and now also supports people who are living with or affected by Hepatitis C.
