INTERVIEW WITH JIM TOOMEY

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of speaking with Jim Toomey via Skype for over an hour, in fact I have no idea where the time went.

This weekend sees the official launch of Jim’s book We Were Tourists, and is celebrating with a 3 set concert celebrating the music of Peet Coombes, Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox.

We cover a lot of subjects in our conversation from the early Tourists days, through to the break up and Jim then seeing Dave and Annie continue onto success, despite being invited to join them.  The creativity with the group and we also discuss his own career outside of The Tourists, and his own influences.

Unfortunately our Skype recording didn’t capture the whole interview properly so you have to use our backup video and apologies that you have to hear my voice so much and jim is a bit quiet at times.
