Starting his career in the late eighties as an engineer under Rolling Stones / The Who producer Glyn Johns .Working then at "THE MANOR" " THE TOWNHOUSE" 'AIR LONDON" "THE CHURCH" and studios in Los Angeles he then graduated to Producer status with Depeche Mode on the Songs Of Faith & Devotion - Live album after being involved with the bands' now recognized golden period with "VIOLATOR" and "SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION" .
This led to mixing singles for Poe and Soul Asylum, producing The Cures US Platinum album Wild Mood Swings - including the hit singles The 13th, Gone and Mint Car. He produced albums for Maggie Estep for Danny Goldberg in the US , Finish superstars 4R for EMI and the recent Creatures album - the first since Siouxsie & The Banshees split. He recorded two Recoil albums Bloodline and Unsound Methods ( co-producing with Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode).
Building a reputation at a young age for working with highly creative artists and gaining their respect his solid advice is well respected. Steve has a talent in making himself a part of the creative process and tends to act as a sypher for ideas. . As well as engineering when producing, he is also a skilled arranger and musical programmer.
Steve has just completed producing the new album for Amplifier (SPV) following the amazing reviews the first album on Music For Nations. His varied work has recently included albums for new comer Layla Manoocherhi , Daisy Box, Polo Norte ,material for "ID" ,Lilly Fraser and Mr North .Also steve is constantly finding and developing new talent,in a wide range of genre's. These include "ID" "Claire Toomey" "Lily Fraser" "AOD" "The Daywalkers" and "Smoke the thin glass black", all of which are on going interests in 2006.
A long list of recent success include producing two albums Reamonn ,"Tuesday" Dream No 7 (which included the hit single with Xavier Naidoo Jeanny).Reamonns smash hit 'Tuesday' album included 'Supergirl" the years biggest airplay hit in Germany 2001 plus Josephine and Waiting There For You singles). Also productions for Brainstorm ( Microphone / EMI) ,mixing SKANDANAVIA (Global warming), Reinvented (Goldrush / BMG) ,Scycs (Polydor) "Daisy Box" (warners France) have led to chart success in many territories .In January 2004 a No1 album in Italy for electronic pop outfit Subsonica followed the mixing of two albums with left-field act 99 Posse for (BMG Italy),all to wide critical acclaim.
Following his production of the hit Paradise Lost album (EMI), he produced an album for Mercurys NTS including the single Ich An Du' ,produced tracks with Heyday (virgin Germany) and hit singles for BMG Switzerlands Kisha and mixed a single for Norwegian wonderkids Briskeby (Universal)
Steve has earned the respect and friendship of artists in the UK , continental Europe and the states speaking Italian ,German plus of course being a native englishman living in west London.
