Damian Marley

Damian-Marley

Damian Marley collaborated with Dave Stewart in 2011 as part of the genre-blending supergroup SuperHeavy, which also included Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, and A.R. Rahman. The project was initiated by Stewart, who envisioned a band that could merge diverse musical styles from around the world. Marley brought his reggae and dancehall roots to the group, contributing vocals and songwriting to several tracks on their self-titled album. His influence is especially prominent on songs like Miracle Worker, where his rhythmic delivery complements the fusion of rock, soul, and world music. The group recorded over two dozen songs during sessions in Los Angeles and other locations, with Marley playing a key role in shaping the sound. Though SuperHeavy was short-lived, the collaboration showcased Marley’s versatility and his ability to work across genres with artists from different musical backgrounds.
