Originally released in 1992 as a promotional 12-inch single, “Black Sky” is a deep cut from Shakespears Sister’s Hormonally Yours era. Dave Stewart, who was married to Siobhan Fahey at the time, contributed to the project under pseudonyms such as Boo Boo Watkins. The single is best known for its “Dub Extravaganza” remixes by Darren Emerson and Rick Smith of Underworld, which transformed the track into a progressive house anthem. These remixes were early examples of Underworld’s remixing prowess and were later included on CD singles for “Goodbye Cruel World” and “Hello (Turn Your Radio On).” The song’s gothic-pop origins and club-ready reinterpretations highlight the experimental edge of Stewart’s collaborations with Fahey
