Thomas Oliver Chaplin, born on 8 March 1979 in Hastings, East Sussex, is best known as the lead singer of the British alternative rock band Keane. Chaplin grew up in a musical environment, attending Vinehall School and Tonbridge School, where he met future bandmates Tim Rice-Oxley and Richard Hughes. Initially joining the band as an acoustic guitarist, Chaplin soon became the lead vocalist when the band changed its name to Keane in 1997. Keane’s debut album, “Hopes and Fears,” released in 2004, was a commercial success, featuring hits like “Somewhere Only We Know” and “Everybody’s Changing.” Chaplin’s powerful vocals and emotive performances have been central to the band’s success. In addition to his work with Keane, Chaplin has pursued a solo career, releasing his debut solo album “The Wave” in 2016, followed by “Twelve Tales of Christmas” in 2017
