The Orb is an English electronic music group founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and Jimmy Cauty. Known for their psychedelic sound, the Orb pioneered the UK’s ambient house movement with their debut album “The Orb’s Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld” (1991). Their follow-up album, “U.F.Orb” (1992), topped the UK charts. The Orb’s music often features science fiction themes and innovative use of samples.
