The London Metropolitan Orchestra

The London Metropolitan Orchestra was established to provide musicians of the very highest quality for film, television, video, CD and live performance. The orchestra comprises many fine musicians who have their own established solo and chamber music careers, as well as principal players from all the other major London orchestras. Composers recently working with the orchestra include Michael Kamen, Vangelis, Quincy Jones, Elliott Goldenthal, Chris Young, Ed Shearmur, Graeme Revell, John Frizzell, Cliff Eidelman, Jamshied Sharifi, Mark Mothersbaugh, Danny Elfman, Basil Poledouris, David Newman, Howard Shore, Mark Isham, Dave Stewart, Randy Edelman, Pat Seymour, John Lunn and Barrington Pheloung. Film soundtracks include The Count of Monte Cristo, Rugrats in Paris, Bless the Child, Titus, Rules of Engagement, Invisible Circus, Honest, Superstar, Rugrats, Hilary and Jackie, What Dreams May Come, Jakob The Liar, Blue Vision, The Wings Of The Dove, The Winter Guest, Get Real, The Governess, Martha - Meet Frank, Daniel And Lawrence, Hard Rain, The Saint, The Beautician and the Beast , Beavis and Butthead do America, and Harriet The Spy, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Event Horizon and The Phantom, Last Dance, Showgirls, Mr Holland's Opus, Don Juan de Marco, Nostradamus and Black Beauty. Recent television soundtracks include Band of Brothers, Victoria & Albert, Murder Rooms, Lorna Doone, Second Sight, Lock, StockÂ…, Sword of Honour, 2000 Acres of Sky, The Lakes, a live stand-up show from Jerry Seinfeld, From The Earth To The Moon, Mosley, two Catherine Cookson dramas, Inspector Morse, Dalziel and Pascoe and Between the Lines, Bodyguards, Hamish MacBeth, Rhodes, and Endangered Species. The orchestra has also collaborated in recordings with many well-known artists including Luciano Pavarotti, Annie Lennox, Sting, Bryan Adams, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Julia Migenes, Kate Bush, Echo & The Bunnymen, Finley Quaye, Kula Shaker, Jon Bon Jovi, Simply Red, Joan Armatrading, Belinda Carlisle, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Rush, The Cure, Badly Drawn Boy, Gene, Texas, John Paul-Jones, Squeeze, Natalie Imbruglia, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts, Gary Kemp, Indigo Girls, and Nigel Kennedy. Recent live performances have included a televised concert of Vangelis' new Album "Mythodea", live in Athens with sopranos Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman, which will be the theme music for NASA's Mars Odyssey 2001. This will be released on Video and DVD in October 2001. LMO performed in two concerts with Quincy Jones at Cinemusic Gstaad, International Music and Film Festival, a live recording at the Royal Albert Hall with Gene, a London appearance with the Charlie Watts Quintet and a concert at the Carthage October Festival , and at WOMAD 2001 with Joji Hirota.
