In 2000 Kick Horns decided to put a band together to play some favourite tunes reflecting the wide range of their musical passions: from R'n'B to Funk, African to Reggae, New Orleans to Memphis.
The first gig was at the Crystal Palace Tavern in Deptford, where a hat was passed around to pay the band. A few gigs down the road, they progressed to Smollensky's, promoted by Jazz FM, and the Royal Festival Hall as part of the London Jazz Festival.
