Humming along with the main theme, her vocal develops into a blistering blues anthem, with harmonium backing giving a gospel feel to the whole song. Ruby Wilson, renowned as the "Queen of Beale Street," will reign supreme at the Blue Room on Saturday, Nov. 16. This dynamic blues diva hails from Memphis where she is a regularly featured artist at B.B. KingÂ’s Jazz Club on historic Beale Street - -the very heart of the blues. Often the opening act for blues legend B.B. King, Ms. Wilson has no greater fan than King, a true testament to her sublime talent. Ms. Wilson captivates audiences with her soulful sound and spectacular performances. When asked to define the blues, she said, "The blues is actually some kind of documentary of the past and the present and something to give people inspiration for the future. Blues has wisdom. ItÂ’s always been there." Ms. Wilson is also an actress, appearing in such films as The Firm, The Client, and People vs. Larry Flynt among many others.
