Neneh Cherry, born Neneh Mariann Karlsson on 10 March 1964 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a trailblazing singer, songwriter, and rapper. Raised in a multicultural and artistic household, she was influenced by her stepfather, jazz musician Don Cherry. Neneh moved to London as a teenager, immersing herself in the punk and post-punk scenes, performing with bands like Rip Rig + Panic.
