Born on August 22, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York, Liz pursued her passion for the arts by studying theater at Long Island University. However, her love for storytelling through music eventually led her to Nashville, where she began her journey in the music industry, initially working at the renowned Bluebird Cafe.
Liz’s breakthrough came in 1991 when she signed with Reba McEntire’s Starstruck Entertainment. Her career soared with the success of her first major hit, “For My Broken Heart,” recorded by Reba McEntire. The song topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and became an enduring classic. Liz went on to write additional hits for McEntire, including “It’s Your Call,” “And Still,” and “Forever Love.” These successes established her as one of Nashville’s most respected songwriters.
Liz’s talent extends beyond McEntire’s repertoire. She has written songs for a wide range of artists, such as Andy Griggs, Clay Davidson, Peter Cetera, and Bucky Covington, showcasing her ability to craft deeply emotive and versatile songs.
