Ian Silvester

Ian began his career in 1976 as a trainee Technical Engineer for console manufacturer, Cadac London Ltd. Three years later he joined Pye Studios, London as a Technical Engineer, before moving on to Arco Studios - Munich, Audio FX - London and Hilton Sound - London. In 1990, after serving as a technical engineer for 14 years in both the studio and retail sectors, Ian decided to form Digital Audio Technology. During his time as a technical engineer, Ian realised that there was a gap in the market for optimising Digital Audio and began offering sales, rentals and trouble shooting of digital equipment to both the Film and Music industries. DAT was initially based in West Heath Studios in West Hampstead, but in 1992 Ian acquired Union Hall Studios in Cricklewood, which has been home to DAT ever since. DAT has grown from strength to strength over the past twelve years and Ian is today considered to be one of the finest Digital Audio technicians in the industry. Ian has provided audio equipment, specially designed rigs and technical support for some of the biggest names in the industry.
