Italian-born and raised in America, Giacomo Smith is a talented clarinetist and saxophonist who has found his home in London for more than a decade. Originally planning to stay in the ‘Big Smoke’ for just a year before returning to his native New York, he was captivated by the dynamic jazz scene of London and decided to make it his permanent base. Smith co-founded Kansas Smitty’s House Band and Bar alongside his creative partner Jack Abraham, collaborated with jazz legend Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and premiered a clarinet concerto specially composed for him by the esteemed Guy Barker.
His impressive resume includes solo performances at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Irish National Concert Hall, and the Salle Pleyel, as well as numerous other stages across the UK and Europe.
In addition to his performing career, Smith has produced records for a diverse range of artists including Jamie Cullum, Zara McFarlane, Damian Lewis, Jas Kayser, and Joe Stilgoe.
