For the final season of Outlander, Bear McCreary wanted a voice that could truly honour the story’s emotional depth. He chose Annie Lennox, describing her as the perfect artist to close the series’ musical journey. Bear said the collaboration was deeply meaningful and praised Annie for capturing the heart of the narrative in her performance.
Annie shared that she had loved and sung “The Skye Boat Song” since childhood in Aberdeen. She called it an iconic part of Scottish culture and felt honoured to record it for the show’s last season. Together, they created a haunting and beautiful version that celebrates the song’s heritage and gives fans a powerful farewell.
