Ally McErlaine (born October 31, 1968) is a Scottish guitarist renowned for his exceptional skill and versatility. Best known as a founding member of the band Texas, Ally has been instrumental in shaping their signature sound since joining in 1988. His distinctive slide guitar work is a defining feature of hits like Say What You Want and Black Eyed Boy, helping propel Texas to international acclaim.
Beyond his work with Texas, Ally has collaborated with notable artists, including his contribution to Dave Stewart’s Alfie soundtrack, where his slide guitar expertise brought depth and emotion to the music. Ally is also a member of Red Sky July, a band he formed with his wife, singer Shelly Poole, and Charity Hair.
