Alan Silvestri (born March 26, 1950) is an acclaimed composer, conductor, and songwriter whose work has shaped the soundtracks of countless films and albums. Born in New York City and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, Alan’s musical journey began with his studies at Berklee College of Music. He initially worked as a session guitarist before transitioning into composing, where he found his true calling. His career took off in the 1970s, and he has since become one of the most recognisable names in film scoring.
Alan is best known for his collaborations with director Robert Zemeckis, composing iconic scores for films such as Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, and The Polar Express. His ability to evoke emotion and enhance storytelling through music has earned him numerous accolades, including Grammy Awards and Emmy Awards. Beyond film, Alan has also contributed to the music industry as a songwriter and producer.
