Lyrics for Funk Not Fight by Dave Stewart and Bootsy Collins from the single Funk Not Fight

Funk not fight
I’m not a fighter
But I’m a lover

This kid named money
He was always broke
He skipped town with my woman
And that ain’t no joke!
She meant the world to me
And that was no mystery!
But when it got down to it
I had to funk him to his knees
Tonight
We will not fight

You’ve gotta treat her like a lady
Ahh, She’s my diamonds and pearls
Oh that girl is my world!
She’s the mother of my babies
Hmmm, wouldn’t you rather
Funk and not fight

What a beautiful day
In the neighbourhood
All the players are playin’
And it’s all good!
Look at those girlies
Doin’ their thang!
Step back
Jump it up
And do the boomerang
Fantaazma sing
Funk not fight
Come do it
That’s right
Funk not fight
You’ve got to shine your light

Boom Boom Shaggalaggalagg
Tonight
Boom Shaggalaggalagg
Don’t Fight
Boom Boom Shaggalaggalagg
That’s right!
Kid named money
Digged the honey
With the bunny
Things got funny
Yeah!
We shake it off like cookie batter
Tonight we will unite
Can’t find no beef
Upon our platter
Tonight we gonna party
Once again like it’s September
Boom Shaggalaggalagg
Make it something to remember

So let’s funk and not fight!
Wouldn’t you rather
Funk not fight
That is where my appetite
Wouldn’t you rather
Funk not fight
That is where my appetite

Yea Baba Funk
Click Clack, get back
Everyone duck in the room
I got the shhhhh dat
I go bump in the night
I go and hit it!
Porsche 959
Can ya dig it?!
I get a kick when y’all
Coming to get it!
My rhythm kicks it
And rhymes when the kick hit!
Zip it
Go and get it!
Trigg said it’s all thanks to the spirit!
Nupu said trip not I’m acquitted
True players always gotta have a vision
All gotta add up before division
So divided you slipped up the mission
Don’t trip or slip on decisisons
Pigeon blood, my drip got precision
My level i’m looking down the ceiling
Trigg!
Why fight, come win with the rhythm

Funk not fight
That is where my appetite
Wouldn’t you rather
Funk not fight
That is where my appetite
Yea Baba
Funk
Let’s do it right
Not fight

Boom Boom Shaggalaggalagg
Tonight Party
Let’s do it right
Party tonight
Yea baby
Boom Boom Shaggalaggalagg
Tonight
Party people pumping their fists like this!
Party people pumping their fists like this!
Party people pumping their fists like this!
Party people pumping their fist
