Marc Anthony is a multi-award-winning American singer and actor, widely recognised as the best-selling salsa artist of all time. Born Marco Antonio Muñiz in New York City in 1968 to Puerto Rican parents, he began his career in freestyle and house music before transitioning to Latin genres. His 1993 album Otra Nota marked the start of his salsa success, followed by Todo a Su Tiempo and Contra La Corriente, which became the first salsa album to enter the Billboard 200.
Anthony has released numerous Spanish and English-language albums, including Marc Anthony, Amar Sin Mentiras, 3.0, and Pa’llá Voy, earning him four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
