Discography for Annie Lennox And Redbrass

Full Biography

Redbrass was a British jazz-rock collective active during the mid-to-late 1970s, led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Tony Haynes. The group was known for its politically conscious lyrics and adventurous arrangements, blending jazz, funk, and progressive rock. Their 1976 album Silence Is Consent showcased a large ensemble of musicians, including vocalists Heather Jones and Josefina Cupido, and saxophonists Chris Biscoe and Pete Hurt.
Though Redbrass never achieved mainstream chart success, they were influential within the UK’s independent jazz scene. Their music was later featured on compilations such as A New Life Vol. II: Independent and Regional Jazz in Great Britain 1968–1988, which helped preserve their legacy. Redbrass is remembered for its bold musical experimentation and commitment to social commentary.

Annie Lennox, although part of the band Redbrass at the time, does not appear on this album. I have had it verfied to me by several members of the band. It is featured in the discography here so potential buyers are aware that it is not an essential collectable item.
