The Body Shop Partners with Annie Lennox’s The Circle to Support Women and Girls Worldwide

The Circle, the global feminist organisation co-founded by Annie Lennox, has announced a significant new partnership with The Body Shop that will help support women and girls around the world through funding, advocacy and direct action.

As part of the collaboration, The Body Shop has committed £150,000 to support The Circle's Empowerment Fund and its network of grassroots partner organisations. The funding includes a £50,000 unrestricted corporate donation, alongside a further £100,000 that will be raised through sales of qualifying Shea Body Butter products between 8th September and 27th October 2026.

Since its launch in 2008, The Circle has supported more than 700,000 women and girls globally, helping to tackle violence, discrimination and economic inequality. The additional funding will strengthen the charity's ongoing work and help provide vital support for frontline organisations working directly with women and girls in need.

The partnership is about more than fundraising. The Body Shop will also support The Circle's campaigning efforts by encouraging customers to add their names to a petition calling on the UK Government to take stronger action to improve the lives of women and girls.

The campaign focuses on several key priorities, including better funding for specialist support services, stronger measures to prevent violence against women and girls, and greater international action to promote gender equality and economic justice.

The issues highlighted by the campaign remain urgent. Across the world, millions of women and girls continue to face violence, discrimination and poverty, while support services are often stretched beyond capacity. Through this partnership, The Circle and The Body Shop hope to bring greater awareness to these challenges while helping to create meaningful change.

The collaboration also carries a powerful historical connection. The Body Shop founder, Dame Anita Roddick, was a pioneering activist and entrepreneur whose commitment to human rights, environmental causes and social justice inspired countless campaigners, including Annie Lennox herself.

Founded in 1976, The Body Shop built its reputation not only on ethical beauty products but also on the belief that business can be a force for positive social change. As the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, supporting The Circle's mission represents a natural extension of those long-held values.

Annie Lennox and The Circle have spent nearly two decades advocating for the rights of women and girls around the world. This new partnership with The Body Shop brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to equality, justice and empowerment.

Supporters who would like to learn more about the campaign, contribute to the fundraising effort, or add their name to the petition can find further information through The Circle and The Body Shop websites.

The Circle was co-founded by Annie Lennox in 2008 and works with women and girls facing violence, poverty and inequality around the world.
