Eurythmics’ Missionary Man (Extended Version) Makes Its NOW Compilation Debut on NOW 12” 80s: 1987 – Part Two
Eurythmics fans have another compilation appearance to add to their collections this autumn, with the announcement that "Missionary Man (Extended Version)" will feature on the forthcoming NOW 12" 80s: 1987 – Part Two, released on 16th October 2026.
The latest entry in NOW Music's popular 12-inch series celebrates the extended mixes, remixes and club versions that filled dancefloors and record collections during one of pop music's greatest years.
Appearing on the opening disc, "Missionary Man (Extended Version)" sits alongside a strong selection of 1987 classics, including Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé's "Barcelona", Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield's "What Have I Done To Deserve This?", a-ha's "The Living Daylights", and Duran Duran's "Meet El Presidente".
Originally released as the fourth single from Eurythmics' 1986 album Revenge, "Missionary Man" showcased the duo's ability to blend rock, blues and electronic influences into a distinctive sound. The track became one of the band's biggest international hits and went on to earn Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1988.
The Extended Version expands upon the familiar single mix, allowing more space for Dave's guitar work and the driving rhythm section that helped make the song a standout track from the Revenge era.
With four discs packed with extended versions from artists including Whitney Houston, New Order, Alison Moyet, Boy George, Bananarama, Simply Red and Rick Astley, the collection offers another fascinating snapshot of the year that brought some of the decade's most memorable music.
