Dave Stewart Shares Stories from an Extraordinary Career in New Daily Telegraph Interview
Dave Stewart is the subject of a major feature interview in today's Daily Telegraph, reflecting on his remarkable career, lifelong connection to Sunderland, and the many famous faces who have crossed his path along the way.
Among the highlights is a memorable story from the 1980s, when Dave recalls life at his Maida Vale flat. As his career blossomed, visitors became a regular feature, leading to the surreal situation where Jeff Lynne might be sleeping on the floor while George Harrison occupied the roof.
The interview also revisits the early days of Eurythmics, with Dave sharing memories of the struggles Annie Lennox and Dave faced before success arrived, including the borrowed drum machine that helped shape Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
Elsewhere, Dave discusses his love for Sunderland, the recent unveiling of his portrait on the city's Music Wall of Fame, his new creative platform Art of Chaos, and his continuing passion for discovering new ways to connect artists and audiences.
There are also reflections on collaborations with musical legends including Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, as well as Dave's thoughts on creativity, technology and the ever-changing music industry.
It is an entertaining and insightful read that combines humour, nostalgia and plenty of fascinating stories from a career spanning more than five decades.
