NOW Music has announced the latest addition to its hugely popular archive series, NOW Yearbook Extra 1999, arriving on 7th August 2026. As a companion release to the main NOW Yearbook 1999 collection, the Extra edition shines a spotlight on additional chart hits, fan favourites and standout tracks that helped define the year.
Among the 61 tracks featured across three CDs is Eurythmics' comeback single "I Saved The World Today", taken from the duo's 1999 album Peace.
Released in September 1999, "I Saved The World Today" marked the long-awaited reunion of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart after a decade focused on their respective solo careers. The song became a Top 20 hit in the UK and introduced the Peace album, which saw Eurythmics return to the charts and later embark on their acclaimed Peacetour in support of Amnesty International and Greenpeace.
The track appears on the opening disc alongside a diverse mix of artists who shaped the latter half of 1999, including Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Blondie, Travis, Texas, The Corrs and Sheryl Crow. The collection captures a fascinating moment in popular music, with established acts such as Culture Club and Duran Duran appearing alongside emerging solo stars Melanie C and Geri Halliwell, as well as future global icons including Britney Spears and *NSYNC.
While the main NOW Yearbook releases traditionally focus on the biggest hits of a particular year, the Extra editions offer an opportunity to revisit songs that may have been overlooked on the primary compilation while still playing an important role in the musical landscape of the time. For Eurythmics fans, the inclusion of "I Saved The World Today" recognises one of the duo's most important releases of the late 1990s and a song that remains a key part of their catalogue.
Across its three discs, NOW Yearbook Extra 1999 spans pop, rock, dance and adult contemporary favourites from artists including Manic Street Preachers, Suede, Electronic, Moby, Jamiroquai, Whitney Houston, Lighthouse Family, Boyzone and Westlife.
Thirty years on from Eurythmics' chart domination in the 1980s, and more than a quarter of a century after the release of Peace, "I Saved The World Today" continues to earn its place on retrospective collections celebrating the very best music of 1999.
