Annie Lennox Vinyl Reissues Land – and The Annie Lennox Collection Makes the Charts
It’s been a long time coming, but this week two of Annie Lennox’s albums have finally returned to vinyl. The Annie Lennox Collection and Songs of Mass Destruction have been out of print for years, their scarcity pushing prices sky-high on the collectors’ market. For many fans, owning them on vinyl has meant scouring second-hand shops, bidding wars online, or simply dreaming.
Now, thanks to Sony, both titles are back - freshly pressed, beautifully packaged, and ready to spin once more. The reissues have been met with huge enthusiasm, and last night brought some chart news to celebrate. The Annie Lennox Collection entered the UK Vinyl Albums Chart at No. 23, and also made its mark on the UK Physical Albums Chart at No. 50.
Sadly, Songs of Mass Destruction didn’t manage to break into the charts this time, but its return to the racks is still a gift for those who missed out first time round. The album, originally released in 2007, has long been a fan favourite for its mix of powerful ballads and politically charged anthems. Hearing it on vinyl again, with that warmth and depth only the format can deliver, is a reminder of just how strong the material is.
For The Annie Lennox Collection, the reissue offers a chance to revisit a career-spanning set that captures Annie at her most iconic. From the shimmering pop of “Walking on Broken Glass” to the haunting beauty of “Why”, it’s a record that plays like a love letter to her own artistry.
We’re grateful to Sony for making these albums available once again, and for giving fans - both old and new - the chance to experience them as they were meant to be heard. Whether you’re adding them to a carefully curated collection or dropping the needle for the very first time, these reissues are a reminder of why Annie Lennox remains one of the most compelling voices in music.
