Dave Stewart attends the funeral of Bay Street Records artist and friend Faye Fantarrow

Family and friends gathered to bid farewell to beloved Sunderland singer-songwriter Faye Fantarrow at Sunderland Minster. The 21-year-old passed away after battling an aggressive brain tumor, her third encounter with cancer following leukemia at ages eight and thirteen.

Despite undergoing treatments and a CarT trial in the US, Faye’s community rallied around her, raising over £265,000. She was recognized by BBC Introducing in the North East and honored with the Alan Hull award.

Among those paying respects at the funeral was Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics, who had mentored Faye and collaborated on tracks for her EP. Faye, who passed away at age 21, was remembered as a radiant soul with an immense talent that touched many lives.

In a heartfelt message on Faye’s social media accounts, her loved ones expressed profound sorrow and the irreplaceable void left by her departure. Faye’s strength, bravery, and kindness will forever be cherished, along with the joy and music she shared with the world.
