Faye Fantarrow releases her debut single for Bay Street Records called AWOL

?Rising star Faye Fantarrow, a Sunderland-based singer-songwriter, has released her new single “AWOL” on Dave Stewart’s Bay Street Records. The single reflects Faye’s signature style of soulful alternative tones, distinctive vocals, and a mix of strummed guitar and thumping rhythm. “AWOL” showcases Fantarrow’s blend of folk and rhythm and blues, with a modern sound and vintage undertones.

Faye was signed to Dave Stewart’s label in 2021 and was named one of the BBC’s Introducing Ones To Watch in 2022 and winner of Alan Hull’s Songwriting Award in 2021. She was recording her debut album when she received the devastating news that she has an extremely rare and potentially fatal brain tumour called Glioma. Despite this setback, Faye has previously battled and defeated leukaemia twice since she was diagnosed at 8 years old.

To help fund her experimental treatment in California, Faye started a JustGiving page and raised over £235,000. She recently visited the US for the first of several trips for the groundbreaking treatment. Despite her health issues, she has continued to work with mentor and musical partner Dave Stewart on her debut album, and her highly anticipated first single “AWOL” will be released on February 3rd, followed by the EP on February 10th.

Fantarrow says: “Life very rarely goes to plan but the plan was always to write, sing and perform and I’ve been lucky to be able to do that. AWOL is the title track from my forthcoming EP which I am so proud of and the fantastic opportunity I was given to work and record with Dave Stewart will be forever special to me “.
