30 Years ago today, Annie Lennox performed with David Bowie at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley Stadium

30 years ago today, Annie Lennox and David Bowie gave what many believe was the performance of the day at Wembley Stadium.  The event was the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert to celebrate the life of the Queen frontman who died from bronchial pneumonia relating to AIDS in November 1991.

When David Bowie and Annie Lennox joined Queen members Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon on stage, the audience knew that something special was about to take place. The capacity crowd of over 70,000 roared as the opening bats of Under Pressure began to play.

Relive David Bowie and Annie Lennox’s energetic rendition of Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness with the video below, along with the amazing rehearsal footage, and our gallery of memorabilia from that special day.
