On Thursday, January 30, 11:30am – 1:30am at the Blues City Café there will be a first-time special preview screening of the 1991 film Deep Blues which has been newly remastered in 4K for a 30th Anniversary relaunch in 2021.
Director Robert Mugge will be on hand to answer questions, and Executive Producer Dave Stewart of Eurythmics will offer a newly taped video introduction.
The screening is part of the The International Blues Challenge (IBC) running Jan 28 – Feb 1 2020 in Memphis. The event is part of a mission is to preserve blues heritage, celebrate blues recording and performance, expand worldwide awareness of the blues, and ensure the future of this uniquely American art form.
