Sweet dreams are made of this: an all-star band put together by David A Stewart performs the greatest hits of Eurythmics, at the special request of Meltdown curator Nile Rodgers.
Stewart is joined onstage by a remarkable group of female vocalists: Emeli Sandé, Beverley Knight MBE, Iris Gold, Rahh, Roo Savill and other surprise guests.
Backing them musically is Nile Rodgers on guitar, Indiara Sfair on harmonica, multi-instrumentalists Hannie, the Vesper String Quartet, the London Community Gospel Choir, Randy Cooke on drums, and musical director Mike Bradford on bass.
Eurythmics Songbook came out of Rodgers’ desire, as Chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, to put the spotlight on great songwriting in his Meltdown festival.
So he asked one of his favourite songwriters, producers and artists – Stewart – to put together an all-star band and vocalists to perform Eurythmics Songbook: the greatest songs by one of Rodgers’ favourite bands, international institution Eurythmics.
There are just a few tickets left to buy online directly from The SOuthbank Centre.
