It has just been announced that Annie Lennox is nominated for A 2019 Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for her song Requiem For A Private War featured in the film A Private War.
Music legend Annie Lennox, once part of the 80s pop power duo Eurythmics has, for the most part, retired from songwriting and performing these days, preferring to concentrate on her activism. She was inspired to write her first song in years, “Requiem For A Private War” for the movie A Private War which stars Rosamund Pike as celebrated war correspondent Marie Colvin, who was killed in 2012 while covering the war in Syria. Lennox had previously met Colvin and was inspired to write a tribute to her life as she tells HFPA members Mirai Konishi and Katherine Tulich in this exclusive interview.
