Dave Stewart - Amazing Spiderman 2 SoudntrackHans Zimmer has enlisted music producer Pharrell Williams to help score “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

The duo will create a supergroup that also includes Johnny Marr, Michael Einziger and Dave Stewart.

“(Director Marc Webb) and I were talking about Spider-Man, and as the word got out, so many of our friends and musicians started calling us up, wanting to be a part of it, because they love Spider-Man,” Zimmer said in a press release. “With all of these hugely talented people wanting to join us, it was Marc who said, ‘Why not start a band?’ Marc and I have had a great start jamming with everybody, and we still have a few surprises up our sleeve.”

Zimmer and Williams have collaborated several times before. Williams and Heitor Pereira composed the “Despicable Me” score, which Zimmer produced. Williams also contributed to Zimmer’s “Man of Steel” score as part of the drum orchestra. The two worked on the music for the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Meanwhile, Marr, Einziger and Stewart played on Zimmer’s scores for “Inception,” “The Lone Ranger” and “Madagascar 3,” respectively.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” — starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone — will hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
