The build up to the 2012 season of theatre awards has started with the nominations opening for the Whats on Stage awards, the only West End theatre awards voted for solely by the theatre audiences.

Best New Musical – Ghost the Musical
Best Director – Matthew Warchus (Ghost)
Best Set Designer – Rob Howell (Ghost)
Best Lighting Designer – Hugh Vanstone (Ghost)
Best Choreographer – Ashley Wallen (Ghost)
Best West End Show – Ghost the Musical
