Sky Arts’ Songbook continues to explore the minds behind the music, and the new series kicks off with the legend that is Dave Stewart sharing his rhythmic musings with the show.

He also performs some of his grestest songs “unplugged”.

Sky Arts this March once again provides a revealing insight into how some of the most iconic songs of our times came into existence.

Songbook is a must for music fans as the series explores the magic of song-writing with some of today’s most successful artists offering an intimate insight into their work. Each episode features an in depth interview with the stars themselves as they talk about their careers, the art of song-writing and their hopes and fears once it was completed. It’s a fascinating look into the process of song-writing and if that wasn’t enough the icing onthe cake is a studio unplugged and intimate performance from the artists themselves.

This season journalist Will Hodgkinson will share presenting duties with broadcasting legend Whispering Bob Harris who’ll be on hand to quiz the stars as they reveal the personal meanings of their most famous work.

The season gets underway with Dave Stewart, who’s best known for his collaboration with Annie Lennox in Eurythmics; a partnership which produced some of the most memorable tracks of the 1980s including Here Comes The Rain Again and Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), both of which he performs here.

Later in the series the likes of Leiber & Stoller, Don McLean, Serge Pizzorno, Diane Warren and KT Tunstall all make an appearance in the Songbook studio.
